Synthesis, Characterization and In-Vitro Antimicrobial Evaluation of Some Novel Isoxazoline Derivatives

Rajeev Bhimwal, Anil K Sharma, Ankit Jain

Abstract

Different isoxazolines (I1-I6) were synthesized via cyclization of substituted chalcone intermediates in the presence of hydroxylamine hydrochloride. The structures of the isoxazoline derivatives were confirmed by spectral analysis. The compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity using gram-positive bacteria and gramnegative bacteria. Compounds were also screened for their antifungal activity. Several derivatives of isoxazoline produced good to moderate activities against number of bacteria and fungus.
